Hanging Around

buzzle.com
I know I'm not the first person to discover hanging plates but I love the concept of putting a collection of plates that maybe have been passed down from Grandma's attic in a cozy nook in the house or tying ribbons on your prized set of milk glass plates for all to see.

Plates instantly brighten up that drab corner, add a focal point to a room or just give that extra punch where needed.

Some looks featured on Tillyscottage.com in their feature on "dishy rooms" that I am absolutely crushing on:

plates as headboards, how fun!
I am always blown away with how creative people are out there. I can't wait until the hubby and I have our first home to really go crazy with fun decor and make a place really our own. I've already created my 'future home lust' clippings folder to keep inspiration on hand for the future.

Here are some more lovely ideas featured on creamylife.com

Also check out Charm Home for some more lust worthy plate displays or artwork here or at 5Minutesforme blog. Or at the Decorologist who also has some smashing features.

An ongoing love affair w/ details and weddings!

Brad and I have been married for over a year but that doesn't mean that my obsession with weddings and all of the pretty little details in them have disappeared. In fact I love flipping through wedding magazines, sites, and browsing dresses and the details that go into making your wedding something incredible. Also, I still can't get over how many ideas are out there-it is endless and very overwhelming too.

Through twitter I have found a blogger named Rhiannon who is originally from Canada and now resides in Michigan as an event planner. She seems very organized, classy, sweet, and had such a beautiful wedding back in Ontario. I love her theme of black lace, creams, skin color and how she put all of the details together herself. The details are so delicate and thoughtful. I love how each couple's wedding speaks to who they are and plays out a story. Did I mention her use of lace, the huge balloons in her photo opts, her sash etc etc etc :) Check out Rhi on heygorg.com

Happy Tuesday and happy inspiration!!!

See Rhi and Andrew's wedding here and here...ahhh!

Sickly Thursday

{weheartit.com image}

Last night was kind of a rough night. My hubby was on the couch when I came home from visiting his grandparents with our pup! He was all bundled up in our blankets, my fuzzy socks and looked like a little kid. Sigh, I think my hubby is sick a total of 3 times a year, if that, so when he is sick it is pretty rare.

He is pretty cute when he is sick, "can you get me another pillow?"..."can i have some more water, please?" etc etc..Okay the cuteness wears off after not too long but I let him milk his sickness because it hardly happens. And to be perfectly honest I secretly like when he stays home sick because that leaves more time for us to hang out, even if it is just to watch the funniest pranks of 2011 on tv in pjs with the pup sitting on our laps...I always love to be with my best friend in the whole world.

I needed an extra large iced latte this morning after my sleep was interrupted several times last night to play nurse to my number 1 guy! But a few days ago a fun late Christmas gift arrived from my mother, I love it and was very touched by her gift:
on our doorstep, I heart getting things in the mail, whether snail mail or what have you :)
Piperlime has the best packaging, even the return details came in a cute little pouch
here it is on piperlime
I love the black too...lace is just so wonderful!! love it, love it, loveee it!

Thanks to this pretty top and my iced latte, I'm going to power through the day, clean our apartment, take care of the hubs and have a great Thursday! Wishing all of you out there, a wonderful day too xo
