Mini Moon Update

~a place for just the two of us~

N.A.N.T.U.C.K.E.T

I am so excited to report that I have booked part of our mini moon in Nantucket at The Wauwinet and am so looking forward to being at this great location, with martini in hand, sitting by the water, with my husband. Hoorayy! For the remaining part of our stay, I think we'll stay at The Jared Coffin House in town and enjoy another perspective as we roam the cobblestone streets, indulge in some shopping and take in the joy of being married.

[a fun view of the hotel and water]
[love all of the natural light and welcoming feeling in this room]
[such a lovely looking hotel, can't wait for my visit with B]
[The Jared Coffin House in town]
[so pretty too, loving the wallpaper]
[can totally see us enjoying the day here in town, people watching and relaxing!]

Can't wait to go to:

Great Point
to rent a jeep and ride it along the beach, make a picnic lunch and admire the breathtaking views...
Something Natural
enjoy a Nantucket tradition and their chocolate chip cookies (bet they won't compare to my momma's :))

Nantucket Bake Shop
a local landmark for as long as I can remember...a spot that can't be missed and I can't wait to introduce my soon-to-be-hubby to the raspberry crumb bars, so delish!!! I remember digging into them as a small girl as they were always brought back to the house on any of our visits to Nantucket
Nantucket Vineyard, Cisco Brewery and Triple Eight Distillery
my honey makes the most perfect martini and is our little bartender, I think we'd both love an afternoon day trip here
Any suggestions on things that can't be missed? I better start planning our itinerary now

A Connecticut Summer Weekend

I might not have hit the beach this summer or gotten that sun kissed tan I've been dreaming about or had a real vacation in awhile but I truly treasure the weekends I go home for wedding planning and fun! This weekend I am off to CT for only a short weekend but I know it will be filled to the brim with love and times I will always remember, especially during this very happy time in my life.

I have my last bridal shower (I've been spoiled with 3 bridal showers thrown by family and friends that are so dear to me) with my childhood friends and their mothers...I know it will be a perfect event! My friend KP sent out the cutest green and pink Lilly invites, I heart them.
We are going to celebrate my dad's birthday (the actual day being this past Tuesday) with some chocolate mousse cake and some bocce ball games!
There are plenty of final details to take care of like finalizing the wedding dinner menu, the final touches for the cake and much more
~Cheers to a wonderful CT weekend~

Two for One

[ lillypulitzer.com]
So this Lilly dress is on route from NYC (the flagship store) to CT...I have my last shower this weekend with my childhood buddies and their mothers and think it would be perfect for the occasion. I also think this dress will wear well into the fall so I like to say if I like it on (fingers crossed) that it will be a two for one kind of dress that will get lots of use out of it this weekend and with boots and worn with some fun gems will be a great fall staple~

Happy Birthday Daddy-O

[weheartit.com]
Today is my father's birthday! I won't say his magic number because I know as people get older that number staring back at them becomes uglier and less appealing-despite the number, I feel so blessed by having my father in my life for so many years. He has been a huge support that has provided so much love in my life and in my heart.
~I love you birthday man~

Thank you for all of the Guilford league soccer games you watched me run up and down the field and for the time you put into coaching several of my teams

Thank you for the hugs and kisses and for letting your emotional side come out and help in understanding my sensitive side

Thank you for believing in me and reminding me all that I have to offer in this world

Thank you for always finding a way to put mom and us kids first, even while you were the main provider for our family. It's rare to find such a devoted father to his family

Thank you for video taping all of my childhood birthday parties and for always making me feel like your special little princess

But most of all thank you for being the man that you are and the one-of-a-kind father you are to me

Staying Connected

here I am at the retreat [weheartit.com]
This weekend my B and I went to an Engaged Encounter weekend in MD. I was not very open-minded about the experience and became rather sulky and unpleasant about the whole thing-from the time we pulled up to the hotel to the moment I looked at B and gave him one of my 'I don't wanna be here looks.' I regret my intial feelings because we got so much out of it and really had a chance to focus on our relationship and each other and it really was such a beautiful thing.

In the end of the weekend we wrote betrothal letters to one another and when we read them...we both were caught up in tears and piled on the hugs as we took a look back on our almost 7 years together and also a glance into the future as our lives become united as one. I love you with all that I am, B. Can't wait for September 18, 2010 and all the years to come!
